New Standard Window Kit
Effective March 2, 2009 CURRIES will provide a new style window kit as a standard offering. A thru-bolt design offers a straight forward installation and a lower profile design gives the glass a more aesthetically pleasing appearance.
Any door order received March 2, 2009 and thereafter will default to the Type 9 kit for ¼” glass and the type 10 kit for ½”, ¾”, and 1” glass.
The price for the Type 9 and 10 kits is the same as the type 1 and 2 kits.
Listed below are notable differences with the new type 9 and 10 kit:
• New bevel design
• Overall cutout size required is ¼” larger than previous type 1 and 2 design
• Standard top rail dimension changes from 7-3/4” to 8-1/4”. This is to help accommodate more closer options
• Standard stile dimension changes from 6” to 6-1/4”
• Uses #8 screws instead of #6 screws
• Actual glass size is still 1” larger than visible glass size
The type 1 and 2 older style kits will still be available to match current projects. These kits will require a note in the “Special Instructions” section indicating the Type 1 or 2 kit. The type 1 and 2 kits will remain the standard kit for 1-3/8” thick doors, stainless steel, windstorm, bullet resistant, and CURRIStain Doors.
The new tech manual and price book pages will be mailed out later this month. If you want to download them, see the box in the upper right corner of this page.
